No, we call it a children’s village. Only a few beneficiaries are orphans. Most still have parents or families but are underprivileged and deprived of basic needs and education. At the children’s village, we create an environment where the child’s holistic development is addressed–physical, emotional, and educational support is extended up to college level. Hence, children are not up for adoption or foster care. During summer vacation and school breaks, the children are allowed to go home to their families.
Dependent, deprived, and needy children who are referred by DSWD, local SWO, Churches, other children centers from the community and nearby localities; and by our former beneficiaries.
Yes, in Pinagbuhatan, an urban poor community at the back of Pasig City Market. It is a community- based program, children attend the Daycare Sessions on weekdays and Christian Education and Youth activities on weekends but they live nearby and go home to their respective families.
Funding is primarily from its partners Christlicher Missionsdienst (CMD) of Germany since 1989. Supplementary assistance is received from Para Sa Iyo (2000) and Plus One (2003) of Japan, Asia Pacific Children’s Fund, and local organizations like Ayala and Consuelo foundations. The balance of about twenty percent is sourced from generous groups and individual friends.
We welcome donations in cash and kind to address various basic, educational, and developmental needs of the children. We also accept sponsorships of special projects/improvements needed like maintenance and repairs of buildings. Holding outreach activities is also allowed as a way of support to encourage children.
