Engineer Jay Roces is a former beneficiary of CMSP Children’s Village in Naic, Cavite. He is one of 6 children from a destitute family in Lipa City, Batangas who were single-handedly raised by their mother. Jay-jay, as he is fondly called, came to Naic in 1992 together with his 2 other siblings. He had a passion for arts, electronics and computers earlier in life. He was often referred to by Naic staff as “jack of all trades” and was regularly tapped to take charge of the stage design during special events.
Jay-jay completed his degree in Mechanical Engineering at Polytechnic University of the Philippines—Cavite in March 2002. His sister, Lovely, also finished her Computer Technology course from Lipa City Colleges in 2007 with the help of CMSP. Jay-jay was already working as a site engineer in a multinational company in Saudi Arabia when he took the licensure examination for Mechanical Engineers and successfully passed it. Before that, he regularly sends his support to the Children’s Home. His son, Jymiel Mark celebrated his 4th birthday with the Naic children in May 2010. He once sponsored the Everybody’s Birthday program at the Children’s Home in Naic, Cavite.
Currently, Jay-jay works at Mohammed Al Rashid in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as a mechanical engineer and an active fund-raiser for the CMSP-Harvest (an organization of CMSP college graduates.) He and his wife Mariel, also a former CMSP beneficiary, are blessed with two beautiful children. They regularly visit the Children’s Home during their vacation in the Philippines. Jay-Jay is truly grateful for the support of his sponsors in CMD and continues to share and give back God’s abundant blessings to other children in CMSP.
